Baldwin’s Trump Rambles Through ‘SNL’ Cold Open

Stormy Daniels, Vladimir Putin jokes come out again on 'Saturday Night Live.'

No, Saturday Night Live was not a repeat this weekend. On a night that Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman hosted the NBC sketch comedy series, the writers pulled out the usual Donald Trump-skewering cold open, with Alec Baldwin recycling his pouty impersonation of the president.

After a short parody of Fox News’s Outnumbered with Leslie Jones playing host, the show went to a mock press conference featuring Trump and three presidents of Baltic States. Baldwin’s Trump tries to read scripted remarks, and accidentally blurts out the note, “Do not congratulate Putin.”

“Time to freestyle,” he says after throwing away his notes. “First of all, a big congratulations to Vladimir Putin … even though no one’s been tougher on Russia than I am, including Hitler.”
