Because the interwebs are crammed full of crazy things, and sometimes the purpose of those things is not immediately discernible, we present WTF Is It?

WTF is it?
The Arriero is a one-seat electric vehicle made to navigate treacherous terrain.

What’s it do?
Constructed from modular parts that can easily be swapped out, the Arriero is meant to replace mules as a means of transporting coffee (or whatever else Bogotá produces) through the Andes.

Who makes it?
Colombian-Italian industrial designer Edgar Andres Sarmiento Garcia, a guy who, based solely on his name and the other projects in his portfolio, we would 100% like to have a beer with.

Is it in any way useful?
With an electric hub motor in each wheel, a double suspension and rubber and carbon tires, the Arriero would offer superior handling and grip — and possibly mule-level stubbornness.

I like coffee. Will this help me find some?
Unless you’re really, really into farm-to-mug and DIY projects, nope. But this might.

Can I buy one?
Not yet, but considering Garcia won a Michelin design contest with the Arriero, it’s possible.

Should I buy one?
If it ever does get released, you’ll probably want to let the Sinaloa Cartel buy theirs first.
