After two weeks of training for all the hand-to-hand combat required for her role as a lethal MI6 agent in Atomic Blonde, Charlize Theron was less than confident about her progress.
“This is never going to work!’ I look like Big Bird,” Theron said while recounting her conversation with Leitch to Variety. “I’m cupping small titties, and I don’t know what I’m doing.”
Well that was then and this, as the video above makes crystal clear, is now.
It took a team of eight trainers well more than two weeks to get the 41-year-old bombshell up to speed, but once they did, she really took off. Theron — who cracked two teeth during training — went from feeling like a Sesame Street character to sparring with Keanu Reeves while he was training for John Wick 2 and even went so far as learning how to “throw some big dudes.”
Her graphic novel-inspired film opens across the country on July 28th.
