The United States has expanded their worldwide deployment of commandos, a new story in Time reports. At any moment, 8,000 of the country’s most elite forces are in operation around the globe, compared to 2,900 forces in 2001. In 2017, service members have been deployed to 143 countries, which is nearly three-quarters of the nations in the world.
