If you’re unfamiliar with parkour, the sport has its origins in military training: it makes use of normal, everyday movements such as running, climbing, and jumping, but all with a heightened sense of athleticism and often danger. So if you want the parkour experience, next time you’re out for a jog in your neighborhood, you might decide to veer off onto the highway and jump up on the median, twirl around a utility pole, and leapfrog the cars lined up in traffic.
