So Bubba Watson’s Jetpack Golf Cart Is Fairly Bonkers

Where we're going, we don't need cart paths

Before golf carts, golf courses were a walking domain.

And walking is good. Think about it: in a typical 18-hole round, you’ll walk about five miles, which is five more miles than you’re walking now. That means health benefits, which, in turn, makes walking the unofficial undisputed best way to get around the links.

Unless you’ve got a jetpack. In that case, we’ll take the jetpack.

You can thank Bubba Watson for this new mode of tee-to-green transportation. In a video for Oakley, the two-time Masters champ and maker of sprinklerhead bank shots is seen riding hole-to-hole in the world’s first “jetpack golf cart.”

As Mashable reported, the jetpack, built by Martin Aircraft, is capable of vertical takeoff and landing, with a flight max speed of 46 mph at 3,000 feet of altitude.

It’s also available for preorder right here. Par for the course, these are not.

This isn’t the first time Oakley and the fifth-ranked golfer in the world have jetted around the course in style. A few years ago they introduced the BW1, a golf cart hovercraft.

Neither will improve your swing, but who cares?

Regardless of what the scorecard says, you’re winning.
