Unplugging Away

September 20, 2013 9:00 am EDT

You live in a famously beautiful city, surrounded by the calming vistas of fir-treed hills and hillocks.

But between push notifications and the ceaseless bleatings of Facebook, you might as well reside inside the biff-bam cacophony of Adam West’s Gotham.

Unplug thyself, man. Sign up for the Beyond Tech retreat.

Run by two health-conscious bros and HQ’d in the refurbished Camp Noyo in Jackson State Park, Beyond Tech is a three-day escape into the WiFi-less wilds of NorCal.

The agenda: morning meditation and yoga followed by kayaking with a certified guide who makes her living leading underprivileged kids on woodland journeys.

Also on tap: waterfall hikes through the dense Redwood wilds, freshly caught abalone dinners, group bonfires and plenty of log cabin downtime.

The brothers plan to hold retreats once a month, but act quickly to get into the inaugural retreat on the 27th — bunks are very limited.
