Music can be enjoyed any number of ways.

Spotify. AM radio. That thing Jay Z is trying to make happen.

But for old-school audiophiles who like a more tactile listening experience, nothing compares to vinyl.

Over the last couple of years, vinyl has reemerged as a popular and collectible format. If you plan on joining the cause, you need a record player worthy of your passion.

With that in mind, we consulted Daniel Halal of Arrow’s Aim Records in Gainesville, Florida, one of America’s foremost vinyl music stores, to see what record players he recommends to his customers.

Drop the needle and listen up.

Nota bene: Halal says that cartridge upgrades go a long, long way. Mats, headshells, cables, etc. make a difference too, but upgrading your cartridge or needle is the best thing you can do to optimize your turntable and vinyl quality.
