Welcome to Staff Picks, a compendium of all the pretty and debatably useful things our editors are digging on this week.

Drop-the-mic Jenga move, anyone?

And now, enjoy our staff picks:

Aëdle ODS-D
Those awesome headphones we had a deal on a few weeks? The same French soundmasters just launched a pair of in-ear speakers built for elite travelers. Lightweight, made-to-order, handcrafted from machined aluminum and calf leather, and delivering a decidedly warm sound, these are certainly the best looking earbuds we’ve ever seen. — Kirk Miller, Managing Editor/Nation Editor

Patagonia Borderless Tights
Cold days be damned: I’m still going trail running. Patagonia’s Borderless Tights keep the legs warm, wick sweat away and feature Polygiene odor control so you don’t stink while waiting in line for a post-run açai bowl. Plus: side pockets for your devices, a secure back pocket for keys and cards, and a reflective strip for evening runs — though that’s when the mountain lions feast, so I’ll stick to morning jogs. — Reuben Brody, Los Angeles Editor

Huckberry x Faherty Brand Tech Poncho
I am shamelessly in love with Faherty Brand, whose worn and faded shirts, blankets and sweatshirts are basically Endless Summer distilled into a line of casual clothing. But this jacket is a welcome departure from their typically super soft, lived-in wares: a technical, waterproof, half-zip rain slicker inspired by “classic beach ponchos.” Here’s to taking a hammock nap in the middle of a rainstorm. — Walker Loetscher, Editor-in-Chief

MJ Arsenal “Martian” Original Rollie Bubbler
As an InsideHook team member spending the holidays in the colorful cannabis haven of Colorado, I’d feel remiss if I didn’t recommend this lil’ number. It basically amounts to a tiny joint bong: fill it with a bit of water, stick a bifter in, and have yourself an irie little Christmas. — Danny Agnew, Creative Director

Hyke & Byke 15-Degree Down Sleeping Bag
The day I stopped schlepping my unwieldy Coleman roll-up into the woods was eye-opening. Sure, it kept me warm, but it also took up approximately 96.3% of available cargo space. Though I’m rarely in 15-degree weather, the sheer convenience of cramming my bag into a compact stuff-sack that clips to the rest of my gear and weighs nothing feels like a giant leap into the future. — Athena Wisotsky, Senior Editor

Marine Layer Joshua Tree Tee
A powerhouse of the soft tees revolution, Marine Layer paired with the National Parks Foundation on these threads that pay tribute to “America’s Best Idea.” Joshua Tree, Zion, Golden Gate and Yosemite designs are all available, and each tee donates $15 to NPF. I’m going with Joshua Tree: I spent an unforgettable day there a couple years back rock scrambling and Yucca brevifolia-admiring. Eager to get back. — Tanner Garrity, Editorial Intern

Acne Studios Fuller Half Zip Sweat
If you like the way this sweat looks zipped up, just wait until you see it zipped down. A perfect example that luxury doesn’t always mean materials, it also means shape and quality construction. There’s a spacious kangaroo pocket in the front, and it features fitted ribbed cuffs and a weighted collar for added structure. Find this on me all winter long. — Michael Nolledo, Deputy Editor/Chicago Editor

Hestra Power Heated Ski Gloves
I recently went snowshoeing at the top of a mountain in Lapland, Finland. Ya know, on my way to lunch. Just a nice, leisurely walk in negative 24-degree weather. Three weeks later, three of my toes are still numb. But not my hands — and it’s all thanks to these babies. Waterproof, breathable, self-heating and they come with international chargers. — Shari Gab, Senior Producer

CorePower Yoga
A month ago, I was an out-of-shape dude who spent too much time on the couch watching sports. Now, I’m an out-of-shape dude who spends too much time on the couch watching sports … but I can Downward Dog like a mofo. The classes at CorePower (including Hot Fusion) are great for someone with no experience, but they also have many offerings for yogis who’ve been Namasteing for years. — Evan Bleier, News Editor

THE BEST THING WE DRANK THIS WEEK

Basil Hayden’s came to the office last week with a few bottles of their new Dark Rye to test out. Much appreciated! BH has always utilized a nice undercurrent of rye while remaining approachable. The touch of port here (along with a blend of Kentucky and Canadian rye) lends some dried fruit notes to the sweet/spicy mix.

Makes for a fantastic cocktail. This is what we remember drinking:

Basil Hayden’s® Dark Rye Boulevardier

1 1/2 Parts Basil Hayden’s® Dark Rye
3/4 Campari®
3/4 Carpano® Antica Sweet Vermouth
2 dashes Regans® Orange Bitters

Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass and stir. Strain into a chilled glass and serve up. Garnish with an orange peel.
