Whenever someone mentions great car collections, I immediately think of Nicolas Cage and the 50-vehicle heist from Gone in 60 Seconds. It’s ludicrous, inconceivable even. But as it turns out, Memphis Raines has nothing on Najeeb Khan.

Khan was the millionaire owner and CEO of Interlogic Outsourcing Inc., and a discerning car collector in his free time. But in 2019 he was accused of fraud and eventually declared bankruptcy, as the South Bend Tribune reported. As a result, his flabbergasting collection of vehicles will be auctioned off — and we don’t use that word lightly.

It’s called The Elkhart Collection. As RM Sotheby’s, the auction house behind the sales, writes, the lot consists of “over 230 motor cars, 30 motorcycles, trucks, trailers and select memorabilia and equipment offered almost entirely without reserve.” The name is derived from Elkhart, Indiana, where the auction was originally scheduled to take place in May; it was recently moved to October.

According Business Insider, the entire lot is worth about $31 million. But Looking at Khan’s collection piece by piece, it honestly feels like that price should be higher.

So what’s on offer? Just some of the most iconic cars in the history of automobiling. There’s a restored 1964 Aston Martin DB5, for all you James Bond fans; a 1963 Jaguar E-Type Lightweight Continuation built to original spec by Jaguar Classic in 2016, a model Enzo Ferrari called “the most beautiful car ever made”; a 1969 Lamborghini Miura P400 S, yes, like the one in the original Italian Job; a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, which is worth well over $1 million alone; and even one of those highly coveted Ford GT Heritage Editions from 2006, even more highly coveted because this one was originally owned by Wayne Gretzky.

There are, quite literally, hundreds of other vehicles to peruse if you’re so inclined. Head on over to RM Sotheby’s for the full details. Don’t worry, you’ve got a few months to pull together a bid.
