The fallout from the coronavirus pandemic among the car industry has been severe and unyielding, with Ford forced to close multiple factories after reopening due to positive COVID-19 cases. But for automotive enthusiasts, one of the worst consequences has been the delay of highly anticipated vehicle releases, namely the brand-new, redesigned Ford Bronco.

Ford has been tight-lipped on the subject as the reveal of the reimagined SUV was planned for spring, and has been in the works since 2017. But on Thursday, June 4, the company finally confirmed it would unveil the new Bronco sometime in July 2020.

The announcement came on a standalone web page, which doesn’t specify an unveiling day. Details on the website are scarce, and there was no press release issued at the time of writing with further details, but those interested can sign up for updates with their email.

When InsideHook reached out to a PR firm representing Ford back in March, closer to when the original reveal was thought to be set, this was all the automaker had to say:

The health and safety of our employees, dealers, customers, and partners are always Ford’s highest priority. We have dedicated teams closely monitoring the coronavirus situation, including the latest directives and guidance from national and regional authorities, and across our supply chain. We are planning and acting accordingly.

In other words, Ford isn’t budging an inch on details. On the other hand, because of the popularity of the SUV — on par with the excitement around the new Land Rover Defender in 2019 — there have been many leaks, including a trove of photos published online back in March that included insight into multiple potential models. Enthusiast site Bronco Nation also has some details on the release.

If the two-door does materialize, we’ll take one of those, please and thank you.
