Quarterback Kirk Cousins, who is getting ready to lead the Minnesota Vikings in the upcoming NFL season, was asked if he was worried about contracting COVID-19 while being interviewed for Spotify’s 10 Questions podcast.
The 32-year-old had a response that would bring a smile to the face of fictional Rocky Balboa foe Ivan Drago.
“If I die, I die,” Cousins said. “I kind of have peace about that.”

Somewhat similar to what former quarterback Brett Favre told us last month, Cousins just simply doesn’t seem all that concerned about contracting the coronavirus.
“If I get it, I’m gonna ride it out. I’m gonna let nature do its course,” he said. “Survival-of-the-fittest kind of approach. And just say, if it knocks me out, it knocks me out. I’m going to be OK … So that’s really where I fall on it. So my opinion about wearing a mask is really about being respectful to other people. It really has nothing to do with my own personal thoughts.”
In Minnesota on Monday, health officials warned the state’s new COVID-19 case rate now exceeds the national average and outpaces growth for the first time in the number of diagnostic tests performed.
Given that, it seems a little concern should be warranted on the part of Cousins. On the other hand, let’s not forget that Cousins’s favorite band is Creed, which proves he is not very informed — and also has bad taste.
