Reality star and wannabe lawyer Kim Kardashian West and her legal team have helped set 17 people free from jail over the past three months. Each of the inmates already served years of their lifetime sentences behind bars for low-level drug offenses without chance of parole, TMZ reported.

It’s part of what Kardashian’s lawyer, Brittany K. Barnett, in partnership with lawyer MiAngel Cody of The Decarceration Collective, is calling the 90 Days of Freedom campaign — an initiative that puts the First Step Act into action for inmates serving unfair sentences. The bill was signed into action last year by President Trump.

Kardashian is taking care of the legal fees while Barnett, who, according to TMZ, also co-founded the Buried Alive advocacy group, handles the legal action. Kardashian has been previously linked to the high-profile cases of former inmates Jeffrey Stringer in Florida, Cyntoia Brown in Tennessee and Alice Marie Johnson in Alabama.
