Jake Emen

Jake Emen is a nomadic travel, food and drinks journalist who spends his time on the road in search of the very best things to taste and try hidden across the planet. He has been published in outlets including AFAR, Barron's, Bloomberg, Conde Nast Traveler, Departures, Eater, Fodor's, Food & Wine, GQ, Imbibe, Maxim, Men's Health, Men's Journal, Roads & Kingdoms, Robb Report, SevenFifty Daily, Thrillist, Travel + Leisure, USA Today, Vice, VinePair, Whisky Advocate, Wine Enthusiast and a wide range of additional publications.

In addition to writing about luxury travel and adventure, Emen specializes in whiskey and cocktails. There's no destination too far-flung or street food too spicy for his tastes, and he's traveled full-time without a home base for more than five years. His writing has been nominated for awards from organizations such as the International Association of Culinary Professionals and Tales of the Cocktail.

Emen has notched every continent and has toured more than 150 distilleries across 35 countries, but otherwise doesn't know how many countries he's visited. He'll tally it up one day. He judges for several major international spirits and cocktail competitions, once won a Delta Milestone Award for spending entirely too much time in airplanes, and enjoys receiving painful traditional tattoos.
