Artsy Pop-Up Dinner. C’mon Over.

You. The artists. An art auction.

Underground supper clubs are the modern day speakeasy.

A) You gotta know somebody. B) Keep your mouth shut.

Problem is, abiding by A) and B) means you take only memories out the door.

Whereas this club lets you take a piece of the party:

Bid27, an immersive art auction that kicks off quarterly with a series of pop-up dinners.

Named for Gertrude Stein’s 1920s art salon — 27 rue de Fleurus — Bid27 enlists the hottest supper clubs to promote an auction of mid-career artists.

And those artists will be at the dinners, giving you firsthand knowledge of the pieces on offer.

Here’s how it breaks down:

November 11th and12th: Re Creo, a Peruvian-inspired supper club that normally meets monthly in a Downtown loft and plates 8-10 dishes (e.g., oxtail stew and absinthe Jell-O shots).

November 13-14: Xian Wei, the San Pedro-based duo that plates mouthwatering dim sum. It’s one of the toughest local dinners to attend.

November 15: the auction party.

Fortunately we’ve got a direct line to that somebody you gotta know: we@bid27.com. Just drop them the number of guests in your party and the date of your choice.

Easy peasy.
