Most pro football fans know that Michael Vick’s days playing in the NFL are behind him. In 2017, he retired as a member of the Atlanta Falcons—the team for whom he had his best years—and recently did an internship with the Kansas City Chiefs under his old coach, Andy Reid.
But the 38-year-old QB is not done with pro football by any means. Vick is just taking alternative routes to the gridiron. He’ll still be airing out passes this summer, this time for the American Flag Football League, a “Pros-vs. Joes” format airing on the NFL Network. Vick is also a founding partner of that league.
That’s just a warmup for his next gig: In February 2019, he’ll be the offensive coordinator for the Georgia franchise in an eight-team Alliance of American Football League. It could be the first stop in a long coaching career.
“I still light up when I see a football,” Vick told CBS. “It doesn’t take much to get guys like me involved (or) to convince these guys to come out and play again.
