Gentlemen, eyes front: this is your Midnight in Paris moment.
This Saturday marks the arrival of Féte Paradiso, a traveling festival of Jazz Age carnival rides, carousels and other Parisian wonders, landing in the U.S. for the first time.
It is a fantastical slice of romantisme parisienne. Have no doubt, she will love it. And they open this weekend.
Produced by the chap behind Paul Simon’s Concert in the Park and painstakingly constructed by a family of French artisans, Féte Paradiso comes complete with flying swings, costumed performers and the dulcet strains of Edith Piaf floating across the night air.
Also featured: a beer garden fashioned from a fin de siècle bumper car pavillion. They’ll be dishing out French carnival eats by celebrated resto Le Gamin.
Kicking off the festivities Saturday night is The Parisian Ball, where you’ll ring in Bastille Day with a cabal of international DJs, artists and bizarro entertainers “channeling the romantic splendour of the past.”
