Because the interwebs are crammed full of crazy things, and sometimes the purpose of those things is not immediately discernible, we present WTF Is It?
WTF is it?
The Beast is a single-seat concept hoverbike vehicle that can be piloted at low altitude.
What's it do?
Relying on a radial fan to maintain its altitude, the Beast is designed to let humans take road trips to the outer limits of what remains of civilization (which is hopefully plenty) 100 years from now.
Who makes it?
A Berlin-based designer named Rico Kerste designed the Beast for a contest by Allegorithmic.
Is it in any way useful?
If it actually ever gets made, it certainly seems like it’d be the perfect tool for performing your own version of the bike chase scene from Return of the Jedi. Until then, it’s pretty to look at.
Is it in any way practical?
It looks somewhat eco-friendly and the red paint job would ward off attackers, so we’ll say yes.
Is there any chance it actually gets made?
Given that we’ve yet to see any of Kerste’s other creations on the road, we’re gonna say no.
Can I buy one?
Considering the fact that it doesn’t exist yet (see above), no you cannot. But you can look at more pictures.
