Oprah Opens Up About Feminism, Race and Her Royal Wedding Appearance

Famed talk show host is the cover star of British Vogue's August issue.

Oprah Winfrey graces the cover of the August 2018 issue of British Vogue. Inside the issue, writer Decca Aitkenhead dicusss Winfrey’s royal wedding appearance, feminism, race, and her rumored move into politics.

Unfortunately for anyone hoping for an Oprah 2020 bid, it will not be happening. Winfrey says that she would not be able to exist in the political structure full of all “the non-truths, the bullshit, the crap, the nastiness, the backhanded backroom stuff that goes on.” She said that type of life would “kill her.”

Winfrey also addresses the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements, saying, “People talk about ‘these are such dark times’, but what if we shift the paradigm? Because I see it differently. I see, ‘Isn’t this remarkable that we’re waking up?’ For years, women have endured craziness. This is what’s happening to people. They’re allowing themselves to not just become corroded, but to become hysterical. You’ve got to lean to the happiness.”
