The first official details on potential Game of Thrones spinoff shows have emerged. HBO has given a pilot order to a prequel series from writer Jane Goldman, one of five Game of Thrones projects that has been in the works, according to Variety. The show will take place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, and will chronicle the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. You may think you know everything there is to know about Game of Thrones, but this series promises to include new details, from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the white walkers. Goldman co-created the project with George R.R. Martin, whose novel series, A Song of Ice and Fire, serves as the basis for Game of Thrones.

Goldman will serve as the showrunner. She and Martin will executive produce along with Daniel Zelman and Game of Thrones executive producer Vince Gerardis.
