Oren Hartov

Oren Hartov covers the watch industry for InsideHook, Analog:Shift, GQ, Esquire, Robb Report, HODINKEE and more, and his work has been featured in Gear Patrol, Worn & Wound, Watches International, MONOCLE and other publications. Born in New York City, raised in New Jersey and based in Los Angeles, he can frequently be found in far-flung locales searching out compelling horological stories. A gigging musician, SCUBA diver and military veteran, he has a particular affinity for purpose-built timepieces such as the Rolex Submariner or Omega Speedmaster — but feels just at home writing about an elegant Patek Philippe Calatrava.

In addition to his regular coverage for InsideHook — where he frequently authors buying guides and covers new releases — Hartov also penned a series of articles for Worn & Wound detailing the military watch history of numerous countries. Additionally, he writes the weekly Watches of the Week column for GQ; writes and edits the Transmissions blog for Analog:Shift, the pre-owned and vintage arm of Watches of Switzerland; and contributes numerous buying guides and other coverage for Esquire and Robb Report
