All the beauty, none of the next door neighbor named Sully

The regional architecture and landscape of New England is idyllic and the subject of many a desktop background and wall calendar sent to you by the local real estate office. And who can blame ’em? There’s something unmistakably American about a red barn in a green field, even if most of us have never seen one in real life.

But now, you can see one in real life, in whatever couny you’re in right now. You can even live in one if you so desire. It’s all care of Maine-based GO Logic, a design, architecture and research firm that just launched a line of one- and two-story New England barn-inspired prefab homes, built to stringent passive house standards and shippable basically anywhere (within reason … some large equipment is involved in construction).

Collectively dubbed the GO Homes, the pricing for the units, which range from 600-2,500 square feet includes design and construction (including foundations and utility setup), and the company allows for client customization if there’s anything you’d like specifically added.
