ESCAPE Homes, American makers of beautiful micro-homes, just unveiled the Boho, a handcrafted 183-square-foot home on wheels that somehow feels … roomy.
Built from sustainably-grown pine wood and “other zen-inspired designs,” it sleeps four and features a queen-sized bed, pine wood bookshelf, a kitchen with maple cabinetry and stainless steel appliances, LED lighting, a solid butcher block table, fold-float couch and light-filtering honeycomb shades.
Plus, surprisingly, there are a lot of semi-hidden storage drawers and hanging spaces.
As well, there’s both an indoor and (optionally) outdoor shower, plus an on-demand RV water heater and LP furnace.
You can upgrade the house with cedar siding, vintage stone countertops, keyless lock entry, a washer/dryer, smart TV and a larger shower/tub. Or go off-grid and take the solar package, where your appliances are sun-powered and your toilet is a dry flush.
Good news if you have the land available: The Boho is part of the company’s “Free ESCAPE Tiny House Program,” wherein the company sets up tiny-home rental units on qualifying properties free of charge, then shares the profits with the owner.
The Boho starts at $39,900 with financing as low as $264 (in comparison, the company’s “Classic” model is three times as much). Since the Boho is technically considered an RV, so you don’t have to worry about foundations or property tax.
