Sean Galaway

Sean is a writer and adventurer whose work has appeared in GearJunkie, Men’s Journal and Adventure Rider. His perspective has been shaped by the people and landscapes of the Eastern Sierra and Northern Uganda, and he remains a firm believer that while technical gear doesn't hurt, a good attitude and a well-timed heckle will get you further. He has ridden motorcycles across continents, walked the African bush, been humbled in the high mountains and bantered his way through borders, focusing his writing on the intersection of grit and equipment and the bonds of friendship forged through adversity.

When he isn’t in the field, Sean is part of the team at CAPABLE.org, contributing to sector-leading efforts to end extreme poverty in Northern Uganda — a mission they've been dedicated to for nearly 20 years.

Now based in Bend, Oregon, he is most often found strolling along the river with his partner, Claire, or in the garage prepping his motorcycle for the next pilgrimage. You can follow along at seangalaway.com
