Jeff Yeates

Jeffrey Yeates is a freelance writer based in northern Virginia. He recently retired as a CIA lawyer and is training to be a mediator so people can avoid going to court. He finds it hard to resist chocolate-covered fruit, roadside produce stands and articles about '80s movies. While in college, Jeff left the U.S. for the first time in his life to study Arabic in the Middle East. Seven months later, among the Roman ruins in Palmyra, Syria, he realized that he really liked this travel thing. In the last 25 years, he's visited over 60 countries and a whole bunch of U.S. National Parks. He's recently published articles about mountain biking New Zealand's Timber Trail, hiking in American Samoa National Park, and spending the night in an Uzbeki yurt. You can contact him at jeffyeates@gmail.com and follow his early retirement blog, anysecondnow.com.
