This 82-Year-Old DJ Is Dropping Hot Tracks at a Tokyo Club
Move over Avicii and Steve Aoki. There’s a new top DJ in town. According to AFP’s BB News, 82-year-old Sumiko Iwamuro, who runs a Chinese dumpling restaurant in Tokyo, has been moonlighting as a popular club DJ.
And she’s better than many of her peers a third of her age.
Working a day shift at the restaurant from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., Iwamuro takes a short break, and then dons her headphones and transforms into DJ Sumirock.
Reuters quoted a 25-year-old club goer who said the 82-year-old has “got this energy that goes beyond age, and that can equal any young person’s here.”
