Each week, our inbox runneth over with news of gear, apparel and tech releases from around the world. In this feature, we’ll parse through the best of them. Today: Spiffy Ralph Lauren MLB gear, the perfect summer sandal and a throwback L.L.Bean collection.

Taylor Stitch

SeaVees x Taylor Stitch Vista Sneaker

Our go-to footwear brand for summer kicks just teamed up with Taylor Stitch for a couple of colorful new styles, each utilizing a  proprietary Boss Duck blend, which — as TS explains — means they offer “next-level comfort in a rugged, Responsible package” (yes, with a capital R). Available as a sneaker or slip-on, the gold colorway here is going to be on our feet … well, in September, when the pre-orders (20% off!) ship. Maybe we meant our fall shoes.

Everlane

Everlane ReNew Air

Shorts, pants and a hoodie made from 100% recycled product … which is great! Also nice, besides the modest price points and supposedly high level of comfiness, is the four-way stretch and quick-dry/moisture-wicking properties.

Lagavulin Offerman Edition: Guinness Cask Finish

An Islay single malt aged 11 years, followed by four months in former Guinness beer casks from Ireland’s Open Gate Brewery. Supposedly features notes of intense peat, charred wood, roasted coffee, dark chocolate and caramel — we’ll let you know when we try it. Part of the latest collaboration between Diageo and actor Nick Offerman, who offers his thoughts on the product here.

Parks Project

Parks Project x Vans Collection

Rep California’s bounty of national parks with Vans’ collaboration with the “official outfitter” of the country’s national parks, Parks Project. The collection consists of classic Vans silhouettes like the Sk8-Hi and Slip-On, as well as apparel including T-shirts, hoodies and bucket hats, with the pieces gleaning inspiration from the color palettes and natural designs/patterns that occur within the park. Yet this isn’t a collection without a message, with each piece bearing the ever-important reminder to “Leave It Better Than You Found It.”

Huckberry

Huckberry x Chaco

Finding a summer sandal that’s equipped to handle not just casual but more strenuous wear is no easy feat, but that isn’t to say it’s impossible. Case in point — Huckberry x Chaco’s Agave Collection. Inspired by the agave’s plant ability to thrive and flourish in one of the harshest climates, the desert, the two brands came together to create custom versions of Chaco’s Z1 sandals and Chilo Slides. Each silhouette is outfitted with an agave-inspired design across the trademark Chaco webbing, lending the shoes an extra summery feel.

Leatherman

Leatherman Bond

Inspired by Tim Leatherman’s original PST multi-tool, the Bond packs 14 essential tools in one compact, lightweight and sleek minimalist design.

Floyd

Floyd Home Outdoor Set

Detroit-based furniture brand Floyd offers modern, modular home goods with an interesting design ethos: friendly, approachable and sustainable furniture that’s built to last. The brand has recently ventured into the outdoor furniture space with The Outdoor Set, a collection of versatile, eye-catching pieces including a table, bench and chairs — all made from durable, rust-proof aluminum.

L.L.Bean

L.L.Bean Archive Re-Issue Collection

L.L.Bean throws it back to the ‘90s with the release of their limited-edition capsule collection which pulls directly from the brand’s archives. Made from surplus fabrics, the collection consists of three unisex pieces — an anorak, bucket hat and tote — all rendered in jewel tones (think hot pink, turquoise and bright purple) that are immediately reminiscent of the decade from which they were inspired. The collection doesn’t allow for any subtlety, but that’s entirely the point, and fun, in it.

Polo Ralph Lauren

Polo Ralph Lauren MLB Official Merch

Unlike most sports merch you’re accustomed to, Ralph Lauren’s offers an elevated take on the idea, splashing smart polos with the teams’ logos or embroidering them with the iconic Polo Bear outfitted in their respective uniforms as he tosses a pitch. If you tend to get rowdier at games and don’t want to run the risk of ruining a good shirt, there are more casual yet equally handsome styles available, including sweatshirts, hoodies and a classic baseball cap, complete with Ralph Lauren’s signature scrawled on the brim.

Todd Snyder

Todd Snyder + Legent Bourbon Selvedge Denim

If you’ve ever wondered what a bourbon-inspired jacket might look like, you no longer have to imagine, thanks to Todd Snyder and Legent Bourbon’s latest collaboration, which swiftly sold out upon its October release. What might seem like an unlikely partnership was born from a mutual appreciation of American classics and Japanese craftsmanship. The result is a denim jacket, a classic piece of American outerwear, crafted from a whiskey-hued Japanese woven fabric that’s produced in Okayama and cut and sewn in the United States. Todd Snyder and Legent Bourbon recently re-released the limited-edition jacket with 50 percent of the proceeds going to Stop AAPI Hate, a national coalition addressing anti-Asian racism across the U.S.

Rowing Blazers

Sperry x Rowing Blazers

There are regular boating shoes and then there are Rowing Blazers boating shoes. Teaming up with Sperry again, the preppy, Ivy League-inspired brand has reworked some of the most iconic Sperry silhouettes, from the 3-Eye Boat Shoe to the CVO Cloud Sneaker, rendering them in vibrant pinks, greens, yellows, blues and more, often using nylon fabric. So if you do find yourself on a boat this summer and you wish to stand out amongst the hordes of regular tan and brown leather boat shoes, you know what to do.
