Belgian model Marisa Papen is a modern-day crusader.
Her cause: saving the ocean blue.
Her methods: portraits — typically taken on a beach or in the water — of herself, starkers.
Over the last year, Papen has worked with some of her favorite photographers on #PLASTICSUSHI, a series of photographs meant to raise awareness for beach pollution. She has now collected 12 of those photos in a (very NSFW) 2017 calendar that will benefit Mission Blue, an organization that rallies public support for the preservation of “Hope Spots,” or zones deemed vital to the health of our oceans.
You can find a few selections from the series below, but you’ll have to buy the calendar to see the best of the bunch.
