You may not be intimately familiar with Béis — actor Shay Mitchell’s buzzy luggage brand — but it’s nearly impossible that you haven’t spotted one of its ubiquitous weekend bags out in the wild at least once. I, for one, own two. Though, to be fair, those bags, and the brand itself, have long been aimed squarely at a female audience.
That focus shifted today with the launch of Béis’s first-ever men’s collection, The Pro Collection. The debut includes the Pro Rolling Duffle Check-In, Pro Rolling Backpack, Pro Travel Backpack, Pro Travel Sling and the Camera Gear Insert, each available in three colorways — Khaki, Flame and Black. It’s a notable pivot for the brand, marking not just its entry into men’s travel gear, but also its first use of ballistic nylon, a clear departure from the signature canvas construction that has defined most of its lineup (polycarbonate luggage aside).
We got an early look at the collection, and the first impression was a strong one. The pieces look sharp, feel excellent in hand and don’t skimp on the details. Below, everything you need to know about the Pro Collection:
The Pro Travel Sling
What to know: Crafted from that ultra-tough ballistic nylon, it feels noticeably more substantial than most bags in this category. Inside, the organization is genuinely thoughtful — multiple interior pockets, a particularly satisfying elastic key leash — plus a generously sized exterior pocket for anything you want close at hand. It comfortably fits an iPhone, passport, e-reader, wallet and a few snacks, with room to spare.
Initial thoughts: A sling is the undisputed champion of travel-day bags, and this one more than holds its own.
Camera Gear Insert
What to know: It keeps camera bodies, lenses and all manner of accessories safe and secure thanks to a customizable interior and ample padding that prevents anything from getting dinged up in transit.
Initial thoughts: This camera gear insert is my favorite product of the bunch — I’ve been hunting for something exactly like it for years.
The Pro Rolling Duffel Check=In
What to know: It’s the largest — and most expensive — piece in the new collection, and it clearly feels like the centerpiece. For good reason. It pairs a protective polycarbonate back shell with a durable ballistic nylon front, then backs it up with a configurable interior: a stowable divider wall, a bottom compartment designed to shield heavier items and a built-in weight indicator handle that alerts you when you’ve crossed the 50-pound mark (genius). Add in a generous mix of internal and external pockets for easy access, and it’s hard not to be impressed.
Initial thoughts: I’ve long been on the fence about soft-sided luggage, but this one is so heavy-duty it might just be the bag that converts me.
The Pro Rolling Backpack
What to know: It’s an excellent hybrid, combining the versatility of a backpack with the ease of rolling luggage. It delivers all the functionality you’d expect from a serious travel backpack — a padded laptop sleeve, a side cable pass-through pocket for charging on the go, a removable zippered pouch with an AirTag pocket and security zippers — but adds smooth-rolling wheels to the mix. There’s also a snap-on wheel cover, so your clothes stay clean when you switch to backpack mode.
Initial thoughts: This bag would have changed my life on more than a few trips through Europe and other cobblestoned cities.
The Pro Travel Backpack
What to know: It’s impressively structured, which bodes well for everything inside. A dedicated rear tech sleeve keeps your laptop secure, while a luggage pass-through lets you skip wearing it through the airport when you want to. It’s also an excellent everyday commuter bag, with enough space for a change of clothes and whatever else you need to get through the daily grind.
Initial thoughts: If you’re a backpack person — which I decidedly am — this one should be right up your alley.
