Whether you see this as a potential scandal or two announcers simply speaking the truth will likely depend on where you lie on the political spectrum: during Fox’s broadcast of the Packers-Buccaneers game on Sunday, Joe Buck and Troy Aikman were caught on a hot mic criticizing the pre-game military flyover and seemingly voicing support for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

“That’s a lot of jet fuel just to do a little flyover,” Aikman can be heard saying as the military aircrafts flew over Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

“That’s your hard-earned money and your tax dollars at work!” Buck replied.

“That stuff ain’t happening with [a] Kamala-Biden ticket, I’ll tell you that right now partner,” Aikman said.

It’s unclear how much the flyover in Tampa on Sunday actually cost, but as Yahoo notes, “flying a squadron of fighter jets in a ceremonial fashion like that costs at least $60,000 per hour.” Raymond James Stadium is currently operating at 25 percent capacity due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which means only roughly 16,000 fans were in attendance to see the flyover.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Green Bay Packers 38-10 on Sunday.
