Bailey Berg

Bailey Berg is a writer and editor who splits her time between Colorado and Alaska. You may have seen her work in The New York Times, The Washington Post, National Geographic, The Guardian, Conde Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, Lonely Planet, Atlas Obscura, Architectural Digest and many more publications. She previously served as the Associate Travel News Editor at AFAR (where she still works as a frequent contributor) and is the author of “Secret Alaska: A Guide to the Weird, Wonderful, and Obscure.”
A former newspaper reporter turned freelance writer, she's covered a wide range of topics over the years, though most recently she's specialized in travel and the outdoors. She's most passionate about stories that share how travel can be used for good — for people, animals and the planet. When she isn’t working, she can be found hanging out at a brewery, hiking with her dogs or planning her next adventure (at present she’s been to more than 110 countries). You can follow her on Instagram at @byebaileyberg.
