Florida’s monthlong Python Challenge is an event in which thousands of daring snake-hunters—professionals and amateurs alike—descend on Everglades National Park to capture Burmese pythons in bulk. Cash prizes of up to $5,000 are handed out. At this year’s challenge, writer Chris Sweeney had a front row seat for Popular Science. Read his account here.
