The COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on the airline industry and has already left a lasting effect on the way we fly. As a result, airlines are scrambling to lure back passengers any way they can, and as The Independent reports, some have started offering unlimited flight passes to do so.
Air Canada recently announced its Infinite Canada Flight Pass, which allows travelers to take as many flights within Canada as they’d like for a flat fee.
The Standard tier rate for the pass is $2,260 CAD (about $1,710 USD) per month, the Flex tier goes for $2,825 CAD (about $2,137 USD) per month, and the Latitude tier, which also includes the option to upgrade to business class, costs $5,650 CAD ($4,275 USD) per month. All three tiers are available for one, two or three months from date of purchase, and Infinite Canada Flight Pass customers can also change or cancel their flight up to an hour before its departure for no additional cost.
Of course, you’ll have to be taking multiple trips a month — something most people aren’t doing in quarantine — for it to be worth your while. And you’ll have to act quickly to purchase the plan: it’s only available until Sept. 23.
Air Canada’s deal comes on the heels of a similar offer from Malaysian budget carrier AirAsia, which recently introduced a year-long unlimited pass for residents to travel domestically for 499 ringgit (about $121).
