This weekend the “My Cause, My Cleats” initiative will allow NFL players to wear custom-designed cleats without the usual threat of fine from the league. According to ESPN, Ryan Bare, owner of Sneaker Replay Customs, has designed more than 40 custom cleats for participating players this Sunday. Mostly working with New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers, Bare designs intimate stories into each pair. For Mario Addison, a Panthers defensive end, Bare added the likeness of six loved ones Addison has lost over the last year. The cleats Bare painted for Panther Daryl Worley address gun violence in Worley’s hometown of Philadelphia. In addition to the many players who will don Bare’s cleats this weekend, he has previously designed shoes for the injured Giants star Odell Beckham Jr.
