A new ESPN article celebrates the career of Drew Brees, following the quarterback’s dramatic takedown of the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. The Super Bowl victor threw for 376 yards and two touchdowns, narrowly out-dueling his impressive rival Cam Newton. The performance carries particular significance for the 38-year-old, as most of the Saints’ offensive success, this season has been attributed to their lethal backfield duo of Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara. But the Panthers paid special attention to the running game, daring Brees to beat them. And beat them he did, reminding everyone who the greatest players in Saints history really is.
