We found some answers, but the internet recently kicked the long-distance sex toy game up a notch thanks to “Space Buck,” a man who let strangers on Twitter control his vibrating butt plug from afar.
The 31-year-old, whose real name is not actually Space Buck, MacGyvered his own anonymous, long-distance sex toy using a WiFi-enabled battery he created that allows any AA battery-powered device to be controlled via the internet, Dazed reported.
Naturally, Space Buck decided to test the battery — dubbed “the Double-Oh” — on his vibrating butt plug, inviting strangers on Twitter to participate.
“Here we go: my open-source WiFi vibrator is in my butt again,” he wrote on Twitter in what is arguably the best sentence to ever appear on that platform.
“Vibration intensity is controlled by the poll,” he explained in the tweet, alongside a poll inviting followers to vote for more or less intense vibrations. “Liking the tweet means 10 more seconds of vibration. Retweeting means 30 more seconds of vibration.”
At this point, you may be wondering why exactly someone would do something like this. According to Space Buck, the decision to let idle Twitter scrollers control his butt plug was something of a philosophical experiment.
“I’m interested in exploring the paradoxical combination of intimacy and distance,” he told Dazed. “Teledildonics is all about being intimate and remote at the same time, and that’s what’s great about internet-connected sex toys.” Also, he added, “teledildonics is fun.”
Ready or not, a new era of pandemic horniness is surely upon us, and Space Buck and his open-source Wi-Fi butt plug are leading the charge into the brave new world of teledildonics.
