Since co-founders Rolf and Mette Hay founded Hay Design way back in 2002, the brand has brightened rooms with a bevy of beautiful products — think geometric hooks, tray tables … even SONOS collabs. In the past two years, the Copenhagen-based company opened stores in Portland, Oregon, and Costa Mesa, California, the collective’s first two outposts in the United States, and proof of a growing American appetite for functional, colorful design from the Nordics.

Generally brought to life by experimental European designers — who come with walls full of degrees and awards — Hay’s products are pricier than what you’d find a IKEA, but with far better origin stories.

And lucky for us, a few such items are now available at our go-to online shop, Huckberry. There are mirrors, hourglasses and even a hamburger press available, but we’re drawing your attention to the lamps, which include a perfect reading light, and a scratch-resistant lantern that can be easily transferred around the house.
