Tasha Reign began guest-lecturing about the adult industry at universities, starting with her alma mater UCLA, about seven years ago. But then two years ago, a fraternity brother at the university who had heard her speak approached her and asked if she could come speak to his pledges about the word “consent.” At first, Reign, an adult film actress, did not want to do it, but then she thought, “whether I like it or not, these men are learning about sex through my videos,” according to The Daily Beast.

Since that first visit, Reign has traveled around the states talking to other fraternities about affirmative consent — the conscious agreement to engage in sexual activity throughout the entire encounter. Reign writes that most of the questions the boys asked “are both familiar and shocking.”

“Consent is the most important and serious issue that fraternities face, at parties and behind closed doors,” she writes for The Daily Beast. “Speaking to these young men on this candid level may help prevent them from making poor choices.”
