Every book at the top of The New York Times best-seller list since January has a common theme: They are all about Donald Trump’s presidency. James Comey’s book, A Higher Loyalty, will most likely keep that trend alive, writes CNN. The No. 1 spot on The Times’ hardcover nonfiction list is something most writer’s only dream about.
Michael Wolff’s Fire & Fury landed there in mid-January thanks to the rumors that it had explosive allegations, and because Trump personally attacked it. Fury was in the top spot until Michael Isikoff and David Corn’s Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin’s War on America and the Election of Donald Trump was published in March. It stayed in the No. 1 spot for three weeks.
Jennifer Palmieri’s book, Dear Madam President: An Open Letter to the Women Who Will Run the World, then grabbed the spot. Palmieri was the former communications director for Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Her book is a reflection on Clinton’s loss and a motivational book for any future female candidates. Palmieri is guessing that Comey’s book will knock hers out when it is released.
