Saturday is Valentine’s Day.

What that doesn’t mean: that you’re off the hook for the 364 days that follow.

Fear not — we’ve devised a contingency plan.

Herewith: a rundown of six art exhibits rolling through town this month that you — and your favorite gal — should put on the calendar.

Because if Saturday’s her day, this is her month. And we’ve got a hunch she’d rather tour a refurbed Frank Lloyd Wright gem than watch the Clippers.

George Billis Gallery

L.A. is beautiful when it rains. And artist Karen Woods captures that misty freshness in her oil paintings, which are incredibly realistic and eye-catching. Her work will be on display at George Billis Gallery starting Feb. 21st.

Frank Lloyd Wright
The Barnsdall

The Barnsdall will reopen Frank Lloyd Wright’s Hollyhock House on Friday the 13th, and you can sign up for guided tours of the California Romanza mansion or tackle it self-guided. Situated on 36 acres overlooking Los Angeles, the site was initially commissioned by Aline Barnsdall, who had a close relationship to Wright, but that relationship later soured when building costs skyrocketed. Later, Barnsdall donated the site, with its stunning pergolas and colonnades, to the city.

Magdalena Wosinska
Dilettante Arts

To help launch her third book, The Experience, local photographer Magdalena Wosinska is debuting some of those images at Dilettante Arts. Magdalena’s work is earthy, surrealistic and sometimes humorous. But it’s always sexy. Her portraits of celebrities are also great. The show opens tomorrow, and you can buy the book here.

Robert Williams
Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery

About 21 of Robert Williams’s pop surrealist artworks will be on display at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery. The event, SLANG Aesthetics, commemorates the 20th anniversary of his magazine, Juxtapoz. If you’re unfamiliar with the zine, it’s alternative bent and often erotic images have helped launch many artists’ careers.

1 Billion Rising
Guerilla Atelier

Yes, that’s Biggie Smalls waggling his manhood. Actually, it’s a redo by Knowledge Bennett, who took Warhol’s image of Slick Rick and pasted Biggie’s head on it. This image, and dozens like it, are on display in Guerilla Atelier’s backroom gallery, where they’re hosting a for-women, by-women storytelling event called 1 Billion Rising. You’ll want to take a date to this. They’ll have whiskey, music and macaroons. Proceeds go to ending violence against women.
