Robert Haynes-Peterson

Following 20 years of eating, drinking, and exploring NYC, Robert Haynes-Peterson is now a Seattle-based writer and editor focused on food, wine, spirits, lifestyle, travel, and now hiking. All the fun stuff.

His travels have taken him to distilleries, wineries, farms, and castles throughout Europe, East Asia, and Central and South America (along with the U.S. of course). Whether sipping cocktails in a hot air balloon over Sweden or sweet-talking his way into a tourist-free dive bar in Tokyo, his pursuit of the perfect birria, dumpling, or Negroni is never ending.

In addition to covering the tastier things in life, he leads cocktail classes and whiskey tastings for companies and teams for the leading tech firms in the Seattle area. He’s certified by the American Sommelier Association and the WSET, and has written for a wide variety of websites and magazines including (but hardly limited to) AskMen, Liquor, VinePair, Accent Magazine, Business Insider, The Spruce Eats, Time Out New York, Serious Eats, and Decanter.

Fun fact: Prior to discovering craft cocktails, he worked throughout the American Southwest and West as an archaeologist. He misses NYC every day.
