Nick Dauk

Nick Dauk is a U.S.-based copywriter who became a travel writer by accident. After visiting a small family’s coffee farm at Costa Rica’s Monteverde Ecological Sanctuary, he wrote a small story about the experience which was published by Howler Magazine. Since then, his writing has been featured in international publications including Guatemala’s Revue Magazine, Great Escape Publishing in Northern Ireland, Edible Orlando, Canada’s Swagger Magazine and The Telegraph in the U.K. He’s also created content for Viator, Matador, Hilton Grand Vacations, TravelAge West, Impala Travel, Special Places of Costa Rica and WanderEater.

Nick was formerly a Senior Writer for Culture Trip and has complied thousands of round-ups ranging from what to do on a Sri Lankan holiday to which roadside motels to stay at in the most remote places of Interstate 95. His favorite part of travel writing is exploring new destinations through an uncanny lens. He’s sniffed out an authentic Texas BBQ joint in Antigua, Guatemala, rode rollercoasters at a coffee theme park in Quindio, Colombia and learned how Italian artisanal sunglasses are made in a small Positano workshop. Though the places he visits leave him with lifelong memories, it’s the people he meets that leave lasting impressions on his heart. From learning how to make Portuguese pastries with a chef from Mozambique to taking an alternative tour of Copenhagen’s dive bars with an English tour guide, Nick loves spending every journey with those eager to share their culture, customs and community.

He lives in Orlando, Florida, with his wife and son, traveling throughout the United States and Canada together when they’re not singing and dancing at home.
