Jillian Dara

For the past decade, Jillian Dara has worked as a researcher, writer, editor and fact checker for more than a dozen publications in the lifestyle genre. She covers travel, culture, spirits, wine, and personalities and her work has appeared in USA Today, Travel + Leisure, Forbes, Wine Enthusiast, Vinepair, Michelin Guides and Hemispheres, among others.

Having lived and worked in Bermuda, London, Santiago and New York City, Jillian maintains an enthusiasm to learn from the world and to share her journeys in the most authentic way to inspire her readers to do the same. From partaking in a panel on Chinese travel at the New York Times travel show to committing to her WSET certifications (currently holding WSET 2), Jillian recognizes that education is continuous and never passes up an opportunity to push her boundaries.

Traveling, eating, and imbibing may be part of the “job” but Jillian truly believes in the whimsical power of a local experience or meeting over a traditional spirit to bond strangers in the most chance of circumstances. Her go-tos are a symmetric charcuterie board and a dry martini — dirty.
