Erik Trinidad

Erik Trinidad is a freelance writer and video creator based in Brooklyn, NY, focusing on adventure travel and food — and everything adjacent and in between — including stories on food culture, cycling, scuba diving and more. Over his many years of experience, he’s written for Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine, Lonely Planet, AFAR, Fodor’s Travel, Smithsonian, Scuba Diving, Fathom, Thrillist, National Geographic, and of course, InsideHook to name a few mentionables. Using his talents from his other life as a video producer, video editor, and motion graphics designer, he’s developed a couple of travel web series: “Car Glamping,” a how-to on elevated car camping that was once featured in Newsweek; and “Plausibly Ridiculous,” a show at the crossroads of travel and science, which won Best Travel Web Series at the international Travel FilmFest in 2017. Today, in addition to pitching travel and food stories to publications, he is currently working on developing and hosting a series called “Off Tour with Erik Trinidad,” in which he follows local travel guides in their hometowns to discover their lives when they’re not playing tour guide.
