The Monterey Pop Festival, which predated Woodstock by two years, took place June 16-18, 1967, in Monterey, California. The festival had one of the strongest lineups in history, with both The Jimi Hendrix Experience and The Who making their stateside debuts and a bevy of other artists, including The Mamas & the Papas, The Byrds, Simon & Garfunkel, and Jefferson Airplane turning in celebrated appearances. RealClearLife has rounded up seven of the best performances from the festival below.
