You’ve heard of love at first sight?

Well we call this one reservation at first sight.

Istoria, Santorini’s newest Aegean Sea-side resort is at once both timeless and modish, offering relentless views from each of its 12 sumptuous suites. Located on the quieter southeastern end of the isle, where “dark lunar soil” speckles the beach, Istoria eschews romantic clichés (think rose petals and couple massages) and instead embraces the region’s abundant naturalistic notes.

Athens-based Interior Design Laboratorium brought mosaics, terra cotta, various cements and preserved wooden roofs on-site to build the suites, filling them with woven textiles and soft-lined furniture. There’s a terrace and king-sized bed for each room, and outside, an infinity hot tub or plunge pool every dozen feet or so.

Ridiculous bonus? The hotel restaurant is headed by Alexandros Tsiotinis, seasoned stalwart of the Noma (Copenhagen) and Le Bristol (Paris) kitchens. Seafood may well be ruined for you forever.
