The NFL’s Thursday Night Football is reportedly moving from CBS and NBC to Fox. Sports Business Journal’s John Ourand says Fox will broadcast 11 Thursday night games in 2018, writes The Washington Post. The digital rights are still up for grabs. They were last held by Amazon. The league’s TV ratings were down 9.7 percent this season, but eight of the top 10 single telecasts in 2017 were NFL games. According to Bloomberg’s Scott Soshnick and Lucas Shaw, Fox bid $45 million more per game than CBS and NBC paid last year for the Thursday night package. On Thursday nights this fall, Fox aired Gotham and The Orville, and ratings paled in comparison to those put up by the games on NBC and CBS. The Thursday Night Football package on CBS was third overall among fall 2017 prime-time TV ratings, right behind NBC’s Sunday night package and This Is Us.
