Skydivers in LED Wingsuits Mimic a Meteor Shower

05Four skydivers met on the Spanish island of La Palma with one goal in mind: to pay tribute to a meteor shower by doing their best impression of it.

Their stunt coincided with the Perseids, a periodic meteor shower whose point of origin appears to be the constellation Perseus. The shower is visible from mid-July every year, generally peaking in early August.

The four men—Joakim Sommer, Marco Waltenspiel, Georg Lettner, and Armando del Rey—donned special LED wingsuits before they took flight, and made a spectacular human light show that showed off their sense of adventure and respect for the cosmos in equal measure.

Watch them in action below.
