Odell Beckham Sets Record With 143 Yards on “Monday Night Football”

Beckham became the fastest wide receiver to 5,000 receiving yards since the 1970 merger.

By catching eight passes for 143 yards as the Giants lost to the Falcons on Monday Night Football, Odell Beckham became the fastest player since the 1970 merger to tally 5,000 receiving yards in his career.

The Giants wide receiver needed just 54 games to make NFL history and now has 53 catches for 649 yards on the season.

In the loss, Beckham had his best yards-per-catch average (17.9) of the season and his longest reception, a 51-yard grab in the third quarter.

New York dropped to 1–6 on the year after falling to Atlanta 23-20 despite Beckham doing all he could.

Beckham also set another record on Monday night.

Following the game, Beckham spoke with Julio Jones. The Falcons star was the previous record-holder of the fastest to 5,000 yards mark. He completed the feat in 56 games.
