Prior to getting into the ring against Roy Jones Jr. on Saturday night, Mike Tyson got high.

Tyson, 54, also smoked marijuana after his eight-round exhibition bout Saturday against Roy Jones Jr. at Staples Center in LA on Saturday night.

“Listen, I can’t stop smoking,” Tyson said after his first professional fight in 15 years, per USA Today. “I smoked during fights. I just have to smoke, I’m sorry. I’m a smoker. I smoke everyday. I never stopped smoking.”

Since the bout with Jones Jr. was an exhibition, Tyson was banned from using performance-enhancing drugs before getting in the ring, but marijuana was not on the list of banned substances for the fight.

“It’s just who I am,’’ he said. “It has no effect on me from a negative standpoint. It’s just what I do and how I am and how I’m going to die. There’s no explanation. There’s no beginning, there’s no end. It just numbs me. It doesn’t numb the pain.”

It should probably come as no surprise that Tyson regularly smokes as he is the owner of a 40-acre marijuana farm in California.

During Saturday’s fight, Tyson and Jones fought to a draw.
